BIG EVENT IN THE STRAVINSKI AUDITORIUM IN MONTREUX ON NOVEMBER 24th, 2011 : «ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN»
On November 24, 1991, Freddie Mercury left this world of cool deception to discover star-filled eternity. Twenty years after the passing of this flamboyant rock legend, the Montreux Cultural Season Foundation want to pay a special tribute to this artist who chose Montreux as last haven of peace before his death. We’ll welcome in the Stravinski Auditorium the wonderful show ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN on November 24th, 2011.
Freddie Mercury and Montreux have a long history, going back to 1978 when Queen recorded their album «Jazz». Montreux was also Freddie’s last haven, where he was able to escape from the glare of the press and spend his last months recording.
This long common history between the star and our municipality is the reason why we think Montreux should mark the twentieth anniversary of the passing of Freddie Mercury.
In collaboration with montreuxmusic, the Montreux Cultural Season Foundation is proud to welcome «One Night of Queen», the touring two-hour stage show, paying tribute the iconic group and performed by Gary Mullen and The Works.
This wonderful band will play on November 24th 2011, 20 years to the day that Freddie Mercury passed away.
