The 15th Festival - 17 days – from July 3 to 19 offers Blues (Albert Collins, Taj Mahal, Magic Slim), Pop and Rock (The Blues Band, Mike Oldfield), Reggae, Soul (James Brown, UB40, Toots and the Maytals), Gospel (The Staple Singers) and Jazz (Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, McCoy Tyner, Chico Freeman, Oscar Peterson trio with Terry Clarke and Niels Pederson, Slide Hampton, Monty Alexander and The Heath Brothers Band). Chuck Berry rock’s around the clock and Lightnin’ Hopkins, Magic Slim offer a nice Blues program. The Stray Cats play July 10 further we can hear and see James Blood Ulmer, Kilimanjaro, Bireli Lagrene, David Sanborn, The Yellow Jackets, Al Jarreau, Chick Corea plays together with John McLaughlin and later in the evening with his own band including Gary Peacock, Roy Haynes and Joe Henderson. Herbie Hancock plays with Tony Williams, Ron Carter and Wynton Marsalis.The number of visitors exceeds 75,000.
